Need Washing?

September 15th, 2007 by limlishe

Got this from a friend, would like to share with you all

A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Target. She must have been 6
years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence. It was
pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so
much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout. We all
stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Target.

We waited, some patiently , others irritated
because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always
mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens
washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a
welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

The little voice was so sweet as it broke
the hypnotic trance we were all caught in ‘Mom let’s run through the rain,’ she
said.
‘What?’ Mom asked.

Lets run through the rain!’ She repeated.

‘No, honey. We’ll wait until it slows down a
bit,’ Mom replied.

This young child waited about another minute and repeated: ‘Mom, let’s run
through the rain,’

‘We’ll get soaked if we do,’ Mom said.

‘No, we won’t, Mom. That’s not what you said this morning,’ the young girl said
as she tugged at her Mom’s arm.

This morning? When did I say we could run
through the rain and not get wet?
‘Don’t you remember? When you were talking t o Daddy about his cancer, you
said, ‘If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything!’

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn’t hear anything but
the rain. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few minutes.

Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some
would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what
was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child’s life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it
will bloom into faith.

‘Honey, you are absolutely right. Let’s run through the rain. If GOD let’s us
get wet, well m aybe we just needed
washing,’ Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted
past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over
their heads just in case. They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who
screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars.

And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take
away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take
away your precious memories…So, don’t forget to make time and take the
opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a season and a time
to every purpose under heaven.
I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate
them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.

Plane VS Love

Can anyone think of the link between plane and love ?
When I came across this, I also cannot figure out the linkage.
When i get to know the relationship/similarities in both,I realize it is such a good parable.
Love is like the crystal plane
It is hard when it takes off
You will lose your way in the cloud
You cannot change airline nor air route until you reach your destination

The Most Successful Son

September 3rd, 2007 by limlishe

Four friends, who hadn’t seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a
party.

After several drinks,
one the men had to use the rest room. Those who

remained talked about
their kids.

The 1st guy said: "My
son is my pride and joy.  He started working at

a successful company at
the bottom of the barrel.  He studied

Economics
and Business Administration and soon began to climb the

corporate ladder.  He is
now the president of the company.  He became

so rich that he gave his
best friend a top of the lie Mercedes for his

birthday."

The 2nd guy said: "Darn,
that’s terrific!  My son is also my pride and

joy.  He started working
for a big airline, and then went to flight

school to become a
pilot.  Eventually he became a partner in the

company, where he owns
the majority of its assets.  He is so rich that

he gave his best friend
a brand new jet for his brithday."

The 3rd man
said: "Well, that’s terrific!  My son studied in the best

universities and became
an engineer.  Then he started his won

construction company and
is now a multimillionaire.  He also gave away

something very nice and
expensive to his best friend for his birthday

- a 30,000 square foot
mansion."

The 3 friends
congratulated each other just as the 4th returned from

the restroom and asked:
"What are all the congratulations for?"

One of the 3 said: "We
were just talking about the pride we feel for

the successes of our
sons. ….. What about your son?"

The 4th man
replie! d: "Oh, my son is gay and makes a living dancing

as a stripper at a
nightclub."

The 3 friends said:
"What a shame ….. What a disappointment."

The 4th man replied:
"No! I am not ashamed.  He’s my son and I love

him. He hasn’t done too
badly either. His birthday was 2 weeks ago and

he received a beautiful
30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet

and a top of the line
Mercedes from his 3 boyfriends."

TAKE CARE OF “MY” EYES

June 2nd, 2007 by limlishe

Images_1There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she
was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there
for her.She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her
boyfriend.

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she
could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her,"now that
you can see the world, will you marry me?"The girl was shocked when she saw that
her boyfriend was blind too,and refused to marry him.

Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter
to her saying."JUST TAKE CARE OF MY EYES PLEASE"

This is how humans change when their status changes.Only few
remember what life was before, and who has always been there in the most painful
situations.

This is not the first time i read this short story but everytime when i read it,it makes me stop and think.Sometimes we as human,we may do the same as what the girl has done.We forget to help the poor when we are rich;we forget to teach the junior staff when we become their senior; we forget to appreciate the good job that our subordinates have done when we become their superior;we forget the staff’s contribution and hard work when we become their boss…..there are moments that we may have forgotten that someone has helped us when we were poor, how our senior has spent their time to teach and train us patiently, how our superiors and bosses have encouraged and rewarded us for our good job.

Some may say no one has done all those to me.It does not matter.I would say you are the blessed one because you are rich(not only in monetary term). So,you may start to help, bless, teach, learn to appreciate and encourage others, playing the role as the "blind boyfriend".You bless others,God will bless you abundantly.
