Forgiveness

Friday, September 15th, 2006

Forgiveness is not something that we do for others
Forgiveness is something that we do for ourselves, to get well and move on
It’s not going to be easy but it is possible
After all we will feel relief and free
we can get past our past only when we are willing to forgive

Benefits from forgiveness
1.Letting go hurt, helpless and anger
2.Increase confidence, hope and happiness

We are unable to forgive if we focus on our wound
We are able to forgive when we focus on God
We can forgive if we still remember that our Father first forgive us
We start our forgiveness with love and end it with a blessing

This is a chinese word of forgiveness,It is so meaningful.the top part is "ru" meaning "IF".the bottom part is "xin" which means "HEART".
If you "have heart" then you can forgive.
True forgiveness comes from the HEART

We’re here by grace

Monday, September 11th, 2006

This is composed by FGT’s pastor Ng Wah Lok

We’re here by grace
You’ve been a faithful God all through these years
It is by Your grace, we stand
Guided by your hand
Your love and faithfulness never end
We’re here by grace
Your light’s been burning brightly through these years
And the faith You’ve put within us
Grows stronger day by day
Your love and faithfulness never end

Chorus:-

You’re a faithful God
Faithful to Your Word/Church
For great is Your mercy
Great is Your kindness
Great is Your love and faithfulness
For we stand amazed, Great is Your faithfulness.

We’re here by grace
You chose to pour Your Spirit in this place
And we ask of You to extend
Your grace upon our land
Pour Your Spirit down across our land.

Bridge. ( written only in year 2000 for the recording)

There were times we felt we were so weak
When all our dreams just crumbled at our feet
But we knelt down to pray, Knowing You would be there
Faithful to the very end…….to the end……

(©1999 Ng Wah Lok)

I love this song a lot. Both the music and lyrics really touch my heart.I am not who i am today without god’s grace.

The scorpion and the old man

Saturday, September 9th, 2006

Read this from a blog

There was this old man who saw a scorpion floundering around in the
water.
He decided to save it by stretching out his finger, but the scorpion
stung him.
The man still tried to get the scorpion out of the water, but the
scorpion stung him again.
A man nearby told him to stop saving the scorpion that kept stinging him.

But the man said: "It is the nature of the scorpion to sting. It is my
nature to love. Why should I give up my nature to love just because it
is the nature of the scorpion to sting?"

Don’t give up loving.
Don’t give up your goodness.
Even if people around you sting.

Dragon Fruits at PD farm

Saturday, September 2nd, 2006

The pitaya, also known as pitahaya, dragonfruit or strawberry pear is the fruit of several cactus species, especially of the genus Hylocereus. Native to Mexico and Central and South America, these vine-like epiphytic cacti are also cultivated in Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam and Malaysia. They are also found in Taiwan and Israel. The pitaya only flowers at night, they are large white flowers that are often called Moonflower or Queen of the Night.

The fruit comes in three types all with leathery, slightly leafy skin:

The red flesh variety is believed to be rich in antioxidants.

What i have here is red flesh with pink skin from a farm at Port Dickson.

Medicine = good career ?

Saturday, September 2nd, 2006

Medicine has many rewards -personally,intellectually and financial.
Being a doctor is good  and also what people used to fill in as their ambition. That shows we are ambitious and want to become "dragon" n "phoenix" as what most chinese parents wish.

When i was young ,my mum used to tell us this:
Mum :" If one day you are so clever, excellent in studies, never become a doctor or nurse."
Me : " Why? "
Mum : "Because it’s so "Dirty" and "Scary"…"
You know why? Because my mum scared of blood and to clean those wound, etc, yeeaakkkkk….hahahaha…

If i were to have children, I will also advice them not to be doctor too.It is not because of my mum’s reasons but just my own selfish reason.Because doctors need a lot of sacrifices……..my main concern is balancing between family and career. One can be a good doctor but may not be a good father or husband.

Thank God that not all parents will have the same thought as mine ,otherwise there will no doctors in future…hehehe
